Bilbao Bizkaia Design Council

Initiative set up by the City Council of Bilbao and the Provincial Council of Bizkaia with the aim of promoting the creative industries as a factor for economic development and international projection of Bilbao Bizkaia. Its activity is focused on ten specific sectors that generate young employment, are mainly developed in urban areas, and have the capacity to anticipate and propose strategic solutions for the future of the city and the territory.

Architecture, art, crafts, video games, design, communication, digital contents, audiovisuals, interior design and fashion.

Started in 2013, BiDC is governed by a board of 32 relevant local entities of the economic, cultural and academic fields; and a forum made up of more than 200 companies from different creative sectors.

The day-to-day corresponds to Bilbao Ekintza and Beaz, an entity that also assumes the technical Secretariat for BiDC.
